Why I’m Looking Forward to Speaking at the MDAA Spring Seminar

There are a lot of CE courses out there, and most of us have attended more than a few. Some are helpful, some are interesting, and many sound great in the moment but don’t change much once you’re back in the office on Monday morning. The ideas stay in the room, while the day-to-day challenges are still waiting for you.

That’s exactly why I’m so excited to be speaking at the MDAA Spring Seminar this March in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

One of the things I love most about working in dentistry is getting to spend time inside practices across the country. You start to see the same challenges pop up, even in really great offices. Practices invest in solid technology, but the systems around it don’t always support the team using it.

Assistants are scanning, yet don’t always feel confident leading that part of the appointment. Hygienists recognize aligner opportunities but hesitate to bring them up. Doctors end up carrying the entire workflow in their head, stepping in more than they should because they feel like they have to.

Over time, that setup creates stress. It slows the day, drains energy, and makes dentistry feel harder than it needs to be. And most of the time, it’s not a capability issue. It’s a training and alignment issue.

That’s what this seminar is built around. This event isn’t focused on theory or ideal workflows. It’s about what actually happens inside a dental practice, with real patients, full schedules, and very real time pressure. The goal is to help the entire team feel more comfortable and confident using digital dentistry and aligner systems in a way that fits naturally into the day.

What the Day Actually Looks Like

This seminar was designed with the entire team in mind, not just the doctor. It’s a two-part, hands-on series built around the skills people actually need in the chair, the ones that make the workday smoother, calmer, and more predictable.

We’ll start the morning by walking through the full same-day crown workflow. From capturing clean, consistent scans to delivering a crown that fits the way it should, we’ll cover how each step affects chair time, fit, and the patient experience. We’ll also spend time on troubleshooting, because catching issues early makes a huge difference in how the day flows.

That foundation carries through the rest of the day. When the team understands what good looks like and how to achieve it consistently, confidence starts to replace guesswork.

In the afternoon, we move into aligner workflows, building on that same sense of consistency and ownership. This portion stays practical and hands-on, with a focus on attachment placement, understanding tracking, identifying issues early, and educating patients in a way that feels natural and conversational. Attendees will earn their SureSmileⓇ Attachment Placement Certification during the course, and more importantly, they’ll leave with skills they can use right away back in the practice.

Who This Course Is For, and Why It Matters

This seminar was created for practices that want more than CE hours on paper. It’s for teams who want the day to run smoother, with less tension around digital and aligner workflows, and fewer moments where someone has to jump in and save the appointment.

It’s also for teams who care about growth and patient experience at the same time. Improving production matters, but so does keeping the day calm, consistent, and predictable for both the team and the patient. If you’ve ever felt like your practice is close to running really well, but something keeps getting in the way, this course was built with that reality in mind.

Teaching in this setting is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Watching teams leave feeling capable instead of overwhelmed never gets old. When people feel confident in what they’re doing, it shows in how they move through the day and how they connect with patients, and that’s what makes this work so rewarding.

Save Your Seat

The seminar takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Bavarian Inn Conference Center in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Attendees can earn 6 CE credits for the full day or 3 credits for a half day. The course includes hands-on training and certification and is sponsored by Dentsply Sirona.

If you’re ready to give your team training that actually sticks and systems that make digital dentistry easier to live with, I’d love to see you in Michigan. We’re keeping the group small to allow for hands-on learning. Register here.
