SureSmile In-Focus: A Live Clinical Course for More Confident Clear Aligner Treatment
Clear aligners can look simple from the outside.
A scan is taken. A plan is built. Trays are delivered. Teeth move.
But anyone who has treated aligner cases knows there is much more happening underneath that sequence. The predictability of a case is shaped long before the first aligner is seated, and it continues long after the last tray is worn. Records, scanning, consultation, treatment planning, delivery, refinements, retention, and team coordination all play a role.
That is why I’m so excited to share Build Your Clear Aligner Success: SureSmile In-Focus, a live-streamed clinical course presented with Dentsply Sirona on May 22, 2026.

This complimentary four-hour CE course will be broadcast from my office and is designed to give dentists and teams a real-world look at how SureSmile® clear aligner therapy works in practice, not just in theory.
A Course Built Around the Real SureSmile® Workflow
Clear aligner education often focuses on individual steps: the scan, the setup, the consultation, or the delivery appointment. Those pieces matter, but they only become truly useful when clinicians can see how they work together.
During SureSmile In-Focus, we’ll walk through the clinical sequence from digital records and Primescan® 2 scanning protocols to treatment planning, delivery, monitoring, refinements, and retention. We’ll also look at the practical details that shape the experience along the way: how to use DS Core tools and patient-friendly visuals during consultations, how to think through attachments and IPR sequencing, how team roles support efficiency, and how to troubleshoot common aligner challenges before they disrupt treatment.
That full-picture view matters because predictability rarely comes from one perfect decision. It comes from a repeatable workflow. It comes from knowing what to look for, when to slow down, how to communicate clearly, and how to give the team enough structure to support the case confidently.
For doctors who are newer to SureSmile®, this course can make the starting point feel clearer. For clinicians already offering aligner therapy, it can help refine the systems already in place and identify where small improvements may create a smoother experience for both the team and the patient.
What We’ll Focus On
The goal of this course is to make the SureSmile® workflow easier to understand, easier to teach, and easier to bring back into practice.
We’ll spend time on the clinical and practical details that often shape case success, including:
- Digital records and scanning protocols that support accuracy
- SureSmile® consultation strategies using DS Core tools and patient-friendly visuals
- Attachments, IPR sequencing, refinements, and monitoring
- Team roles from consult to delivery
- Common aligner challenges and how to troubleshoot them early
- Retention protocols that help protect long-term outcomes
These are the areas I focus on often in clear aligner education and SureSmile® consulting: case selection, treatment planning, workflows, and team training. Not because every case needs to feel complicated, but because the right structure gives everyone more confidence.
Why Seeing the Process Matters
One of the most common challenges with clear aligners is that the outcome can feel disconnected from the steps that created it.
A strong scan does not replace a strong consultation. A thoughtful treatment plan does not replace patient compliance. A smooth delivery appointment does not replace monitoring. And retention is not an afterthought; it is part of protecting the work that came before it.
When the process is visible from beginning to end, the details become easier to connect. Better records support better planning. Clearer visuals help patients understand the value of treatment and their role in it. Defined team responsibilities reduce missed steps. Retention planning helps maintain the result long after active treatment ends.
That is the heart of this course. It is not about making aligner therapy feel more complicated. It is about making the process more visible, more structured, and more predictable.
